Hello my loves!
Things are rolling along here in Bloomington. I am progressing through my studies, hopefully to be finished with classes this semester!! Finally, I will come to an end of attending and the beginning of only facilitating! Hooray for that:) I'm keeping busy visiting my family when I have the chance, but mostly working towards the end of my degree. I'll take my qualifying exams this summer, and start on my dissertation (the final research project for my degree). I hope to graduate in 2010, then move to anywhere with a job! Other than school I enjoy reading and going to the movies, out for drinks, making wonderful meals which my roommate gulps down gleefully, working out, avoiding schoolwork, ect. Mostly I love to enjoy all that Bloomington has to offer...(note: come visit!).
Other than that I am going to start visiting West Palm Beach FL more often as my sister and her growing family will be moving next month! Thanks to her I'm a proud Auntie of 2 cuties: Charlie (2yrs old) and Jack (1 mo). Other exciting news for the McCracken Clan was the marriage of my older brother Brian to Jillian! They'd been together for 8 years, so it was about time to make it official.
Updates from Bloomington the town:
Steve and Barry's went out of business. Panda Express is now on Kirkwood. There is a new science research building, Smith Hall, located by Jordan Hall and the Chemistry Building. There are two new parking garages, one on 3rd and Fess and the other across from the business school. The path between the main library lot and the Auditorium is finally open and accessible. Macri's Deli is out of business. Kroger on College Mall is HUGE! There are 3 burrito places on Kirkwood and no ice cream shops. Brothers bar franchise has opened across from the Bluebird. Construction is ongoing for the football stadium and the new practice basketball facitilty. Hoosier basketball didn't sell out this season and all remaining seats are being sold for $5 a game (with exceptions). Also there is a light totem outside the Art Museum which was installed for its 25th anniversary. I've included a picture of it and how it illuminates the Art Museum.

I can't believe Macri's is closed!!! And I dont know where I will get my T-shirts anymore now that Steve and Barry's is out of business!

great update! is there no more jiffy treet then? ahhh! we are venturing to bloomington over valentine's day weekend and seeing the illinois vs. indiana game. and finally staying at grant street inn and eating at scholar's inn!
OK, no joke, 70% of my decision to so to IU was based on Jiffy Treet. Why ever go back?
Jiffy Treat is not out of business...there are still two locations in btown open... by college mall and on 14th and Walnut. That tradition hasn't left...

RIP Macri's. Thank goodness you didn't write about the demise of BBC or Village Deli, that I just could not have handled.

It is true, all that Colleen writes. However, Margaret, you might be upset to find out that the Chocolate Moose had to close as well...but good news maybe, somebody bought the rights and will reopen this spring.
By the way, there is a 3rd JT on the westside...so Smitty no reason to disappear due to no JT! Love you guys!
