Hey ladies ... time for an update from this end of the world.
Two years has come and gone so fast and I'll graduate from UT (hook 'em) May 23 with a masters degree in social work. Then ... I will go right back into the life I left in the first place. I have accepted a job back with USA Swimming. A different job this time around though. I'll be working in the National Team division in a position I am working with them to create. An athlete 'life' support role of sorts. Connecting athletes to funding, resources, jobs; transiting from college to pro, transitioning out of the sport into retirement; creating mentorship programs. The goal overall is to make USA Swimming more accessible to athletes and listening to what athletes need. So I guess in a lot of ways it is very social work based. I'm really excited about it! Now that I have a job, I'm even more ready to be done with school and get started!!!
So I will be heading back to the Springs around the first week in June. I can hardly wait. I love Austin but I miss Colorado like WHOA. I am still with the firefighter, we are doing great. That boy puts up with all my committment phobe bs, so I'm trying to keep him around! :)
I got hooked up with NBC again this summer. This time around we are headed to Rome to cover World Champs in the last week of July. Then I am very excited for Hoosiers European Adventure 2009!
On the reunion front: World Champs are in Indy again this summer ... who will be there? Can we plan for a dinner date?
